MAJOR OVERHAUL ON SIGGY'S DANCER
1981 C&C 30 MKI

UNDER THE COVER

TAPING PRIOR TO NEW GELCOAT

These photos show some of the work of taping and then laying the new nonskid on the deck.
You can also see that the companionway bulkhead is being re-glassed for new instruments.

FINISHED DECK

PORT SIDE BEFORE

In these photos you can see the re-enforcement done below the chainplate knees to strengthen
this area in the hull and to prevent any further dimpling of the hull caused either by faulty
glass work in construction as some on the list have indicated, or by excessive backstay tension
while racing for twenty years.

The photos show that 3 pieces of plywood (3/4”) were laminated together and then glassed into
the base of the knee and into the hull below the knee. The first photos show the raw glass work.
The second photos show the gelcoated finished look before the liner panels were replaced. Notice that
the starboard extension was shaped to allow access to the locker behind the cabin liner wall.
